Nellie May Haigler and Her Ancestors

The Haiglers were an adventurous family who migrated in six generations over 3,000 land miles and 4,000 nautical miles from a small town in Switzerland to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. They lived in Virginia, Iowa, Kansas and Colorado Springs and were woodsmen, farmers, a bodyguard of Gen. George Washington, landowners, breeders of livestock, horsemen, hotel managers and real estate entrepreneurs. Ultimately, their beautiful descendant Nellie May, beloved by everyone who knew her, followed her husband all the way west to California.
